HOMEBASE: Mannheim, Germany
WEBSITE: http://www.addictz-world.com/ DATE OF RECORDING: October 2005 DURATION: 89'03" TITLE: Dark FM Mix
'Alright, this is a mix I made back in 2005 for an online radio show on Dark FM in the UK. The people from Digital Vertigo arranged for a slot on Sunday afternoon and forum members could broadcast a 90 min. mix there. This is pretty much a no frills mix, just clean transitions and dope music. I threw it together in one day and I still like it pretty much considering the circumstances. It’s a mix of some classic 90s Hip Hop with some Downtempo songs thrown in for good measure. I will make a more underground oriented mix soon once I get my dubstep done that I’m workin on at the moment, so for now I hope you enjoy this mix. Peace Mr. Boogie.' http://www.myspace.com/thetruemrboogie |

The academy of Vinyl Addicts had about a million sessions to bring you guys a whole new kind of interview. Why a 10 page interview, when all you need is 25 26 letters to know a person from A to Z. Inspired by DJ Koco’s 'A- Z Mix Show' we bring you the Vinyl Addicts A To The Z interviews. This month it's time for Digger With Gratitude extraordinaire Rare Dave. |

ARTIST: Force The Sorcerer and various artists
TITLE: Noble Knight b/w Mental Scriptures / The Beginning FORMAT: 12" YEAR: 1998 LABEL: Naked Ear Records To be honest with y’all I kinda got stuck in the past when it comes to hip-hop and because of that the majority of the records in my collection are dated pre-1998. With that in mind I think this will be my first Vinyl Addicts review for a record that was actually released in 1998. Inspired by Ol’ EightyFive’s recent piece on Beantown’s M-Slash I felt it was about that time to unleash this rare indy joint from Boston, Massachusetts onto the visitors of our beloved website. |

ARTIST: Too Kool Posse
TITLE: Give 'Em A Sample b/w Do You Want To Get Hype FORMAT: 12" YEAR: 1988 LABEL: Diversity Records Now here’s an interesting piece for all the record-collecting hip-hop fiends out there. A few months before this single was picked up by Profile Records and presented to a bigger audience, it was put in a limited quantity of 300 copies through a small independent label from Trenton, New Jersey named Diversity Records (which I believe was a label run by Trenton’s own Tony D and YZ or at least one of them). Apart from this 12” by Too Kool Posse the label also released singles from YZ.G-Rock (YZ’s first single) and L.Q. MC.’s, both of which are hard to find. |

ARTIST: Long Ova Due
TITLE: Due Date FORMAT: EP YEAR: 1993 LABEL: L.O.D. Records Don’t you just love it when eBay sellers list dope records in the wrong section or when eBay’s listing system just doesn’t work as it should? Recently a Dutch seller listed this EP from New Jersey’s Long Ova Due crew, but for some reason it couldn’t be found in the section it was listed in and it also didn’t show in the seller’s auction list. I don’t even know how I found it, but I guess I was the only one who somehow did and I scooped it for the starting price of $9,99, which was a steal if you ask me. |
