ARTIST: The Woodzmen
TITLE: Timbre FORMAT: 12" YEAR: 199? LABEL: AIMJ Records A couple of weeks ago me and Redkhat were in our favorite record store when the shop owner gave this record right here a spin. Of course we were like “What the fuck?” and we asked the guy what it was. Now the guy is in his 50s and he has no clue about hip-hop music whatsoever, so we were quite surprised that out of all the records in his store he picked out this obscure little jammie and decided to play it. |

ARTIST: Trauma Center
TITLE: Thick Click b/w Emergency FORMAT: 12" YEAR: 1995 LABEL: Trauma Production Hailing from Philly D.J. Rocksteady, Wes Doe and Kareem a.k.a. Trauma Center dropped their first and only effort on wax back in 1995 on their own Trauma Production imprint. Although there were around 10.000 copies pressed up, this is the first copy that I have ever seen in my adventurous journey seeking for dope records (though my all seeing eye is not the best in the world). |

Check the interview what to expect in the near future, what his eBay business is all about, how he felt in love with the digging game, his view on hip hop in the past and present...etc. Get ready for a real hip hop connoisseur. ARTIST: Corner 2 Corner
TITLE: Anyday b/w Corners 2 Corporations FORMAT: 12" YEAR: 199? LABEL: Timeless Entertainment Inc. I first heard of the group Corner 2 Corner back in 2003 when I listened to radio show #37 of Alex Poulikakos’ Vinyl Heaven website. Amongst tracks from King Sun, Black Moon, Powerule and Simply II Positive this “Corners 2 Corporations” track was one of the standout cuts of the show for me and I knew I just had to get a copy of this 12”. But as always this wasn’t was easy as I wanted it to be. After three and a half years of bad luck and frustrations (eBay millionaires; trades gone bad) June 3rd, 2007 was my lucky day as I found a copy of the Corner 2 Corner 12” for only five Euros on the monthly Vinyl Addicts digging trip. |

ARTIST: Fugatives From Hell
TITLE: Biz With The Skillz FORMAT: Tape YEAR: 1993 LABEL: Timeless Entertainment Inc. Who doesn’t remember the following Q&A from the intro of “From Where???”, Mad Skillz’ debut album from 1996? Where you from? You gotta be from Brooklyn man, you gotta be God! Nah nah kid! Hey, nah, you that nigga from Queens right? Nah B nah, I ain't from Queens! Oh! I got it I got it, that nigga from Uptown, he gotta be! Nah, nah, nah kid! Word? Word is bond dog? No, I ain't from Uptown kid! Where you from God? Virginia! From where……?????? Well, the same question came to mind when I read the liner notes of this cassette and found out that this three men force named Fugatives From Hell was reppin’ Indianapolis, Indiana. I mean, how many hip-hop artists or groups from the state of Indiana can you name? The only name that comes to mind is that of former NMS champ and freestyle legend Supernatural and that’s not even a common fact amongst hip-hop fans across the globe. |

No, this ain’t a bad dream or another joke like that Smoov & J.C. review, today is Jermaine Mauldin Day on Vinyl Addicts!!! Heh heh… |

ARTIST: X-Caliber
TITLE: Butta Messenga b/w Les Miserables FORMAT: 12" YEAR: 1997 LABEL: Fat Sam Records Yo! It’s been some time, but we’re back with another review. Smoov and I have been very busy. We have some nice stuff for you waiting here to be published within a couple of weeks. Today I’ll shine a little light on a relatively unknown record from 1997. The crew goes by the name of X-Caliber and consists of two rappers (I guess?) and a DJ in the first place. Actually this 12” on Fat Sam Records was the only release of this crew and it looks like it was more a unique project that didn’t live long afterwards. I don’t know if they had more material, but it was this 12” that got some local airplay in the Boston area and might sounds familiar to some of you. |
