"IT WASN'T ANY FUN FOR ME ANYMORE; I HAD LOST MY GRANDMOTHER AND I LOST HIM" Just hours before flying to South-Africa, Ol’ EightyFive e-mailed me the biggest and probably best article you’ll get to read on Vinyl Addicts this year. On November 27th Ol’ Eighty got the chance to interview the Funky Man himself, Lord Finesse. Reppin’ VA to the fullest Ol’ Eighty went ‘head to head’ with the living legend and this resulted in a thorough, far from ordinary interview. Finesse talks about the ‘early days’, Raheem, Big L, Lords Of The Underground, rare records, Percee-P, Muro, future projects and so on. Definitely some great stuff. |

"I LOOK AT THE MEDIA LIKE A LOOK AT SCUM ON THE TOILET: I DON'T" About three weeks ago VA had the chance to interview the “Bronx Phenomenon” Tim Dog in Amsterdam. After the album “Big Time” by him and Kool Keith little was heard about Tim Dog. In 2003 the album “Immortal” got leaked but now he’s back with the highly anticipated album “The BX Warrior”.
Tim Dog has been busy with several projects; he launched the record company “Big City Entertainment”, is about to bring out a book called “Hip Hop Chronicles” and as mentioned the new album will be out soon. However this small interview was mainly aiming for several questions which were unclear like the beef between him and Freddie Foxxx and the rumours about Ced Gee’s crack abuse. |

Now I know I’ve said it before, but Easy Mo Bee (born Osten Harvey, Jr.) is one of the most underrated hip-hop producers in the biz. I mean, how many times do you think Mo Bee’s name would come up if you’d ask people about their all-time favorite hip-hop producers? Really, Mo Bee is one of the most consistent and talented beatsmiths of all time and it’s about time people recognize the real. |
