I was planning to go all out with my first review of the year. But it seems that our beloved Guinness Book Of World Records will celebrate their 60th birthday this year. So here it is, the shortest review you will ever read.

About three weeks ago VA had the chance to interview the “Bronx Phenomenon” Tim Dog in Amsterdam. After the album “Big Time” by him and Kool Keith little was heard about Tim Dog. In 2003 the album “Immortal” got leaked but now he’s back with the highly anticipated album “The BX Warrior”.

Tim Dog has been busy with several projects; he launched the record company “Big City Entertainment”, is about to bring out a book called “Hip Hop Chronicles” and as mentioned the new album will be out soon. However this small interview was mainly aiming for several questions which were unclear like the beef between him and Freddie Foxxx and the rumours about Ced Gee’s crack abuse.

One of the most slept-on crews of the early 90’s without question is Rumpletilskinz, the four men collective from Uniondale, Long Island. Consisting of Shanow ‘The Remedy Man’, R.P.M., Jeranimo and The Capital L.S. this crew first appeared on the scene back in 1991 when they tore up the monstrous posse-cut “Sound of the Zeekers”, the b-side of Leaders Of The New School’s “Sobb story” 12” and also the strongest cut on LONS’ debut album “A future without a past”.

I mean, how many times do you think Mo Bee’s name would come up if you’d ask people about their all-time favorite hip-hop producers? Really, Mo Bee is one of the most consistent and talented beatsmiths of all time and it’s about time people recognize the real.
